CGDI MB Adds Key to Old Mercedes K-line w202 w208 w210 via OBD

CGDI Prog MB software v2.8.1.0 adds Mercedes Benz old K-line vehicle key programming. Here’s the guide on adding new keys to w202 w208 w210 kline MB 38pin car from 1997 to 1998 via OBD.

Step 1: Calculate Password
Connect CGDI Prog with laptop and vehicle
Open CGDI MB software

Select Computer Password-> Copy key with key-> Collect data

Follow 7 steps below to collect data
1.Insert original key into EIS and press OK

3.Insert the car key into EIS 10s and remove
Make sure to twise the key to ON position and turn on insturment. If failed to do this, pull ouit the ey
and try again. Press OK to continue.

5. Remove the key for 5s and then insert the key into EIS
6.Insert the key into CGDI MB
7. Save the generated files

CGDI MB Repairs/Reset Mercedes W211 Rolling Code Step by Step

How-to: repair Mercedes W211 original EIS rolling code with CGDI Prog MB Key Programmer.

Rolling code :

A rolling code (or sometimes called a hopping code) is used in keyless entry systems to prevent replay attacks, where an eavesdropper records the transmission and replays it at a later time to cause the receiver to ‘unlock’. Such systems are typical in garage door openers and keyless car entry systems.

Why need repair W211 rolling code?

Most of keys are too fast to be inserted and removed,  the track code does not roll, resulting in code rolling, so the key and the EIS cannot be matched properly. CGDI MB has the ability to repair Mercedes rolling code.

Tools required:
CGDI Prog MB
Analog key data collector
OBD connector
USB cable

Follow main steps below:

1. First you need a key password
2. Calculate the track code of the key
3. Read the EIS, fill in password and save data
4. Calculate the erase password and erase it
5. Load the EIS data with the password
6. Click “Allow modification of data”
7. Change the track code of the key position to the track
code of the key.
8. Write data
9. Learn key

Step-by-step procedure:

Clone Xentry Connect C5- Good & Bad Things

I bought “Original Clone Xentry Connect C5” from China’s retail store in 2017/12.

Good thing:

1. Unlike bad products of C5 type C4 motherboard, texture is good
2. DoIP specification

Bad thing:

1. Because it is VM system + 32bit, the reaction is slow (SSD though …)
2. Vediamo can be used, but feeling like driving with DELL D 630 (unsuitable)
3. The DTS Monaco software is installed but the connection with the vehicle is NG (currently retail stores and manufacturer engineers are thinking about how to fix it)
4. Passwords are applied to each drive, making it hard to customize
5. Retail shops and manufacturer engineers lack knowledge (take time to support)

My thoughts

I think purchasing this product is still early.

There are too many trouble elements.

I’ll report it when the situation changes.

What I currently use (stable and comfortable)

New car: eCom (64 bit)
Normal: Clone SD Connect C4 (64 bit)
Old car: Clone C3

Upgrade Process for K518 Adaptor Kernel

After the APK of Lonsdor K518S Key Programmer is upgraded to V1.6.0 version, the adaptor requires to be installed new kernel beforehand. Please refer to below operations.

Step 1: Connect the device to the specified adaptor and plug in 12V power, as shown below.

Step 2 : Start up the device, and input password to enter home screen. Click “Update firmware” button in below red box.

Step 3: The following interface appears, click “Install Adaptor” in below red box.

Step 4: It skips to the below interface, click “OK” to continue.

Step 5: It skips to below interface. You will see the progress indicator moving rightwards. When downloading is completed, click OK” and exit. The adaptor kernel is installed successfully.

Basically, there will be 4 parts in the whole help file: Function, Reference, Attention and Operation.

Function

1. Program smart key: to program smart card (please make dealer key first);

2. Make dealer key: use the backed up BIN data to make the non-dedicated key to be dealer key.

Attention

1. All the keys need to learn, or it will not be able to start the vehicle, it is recommended to learn the original car keys first,and then learn the new key, battery must be well installed.

2. The newly added key must be either the dealer key made via the car BCM data, or the key ordered back through the VIN code.

3. When learning key, it is required to insert the key into the induction keyhole, to learn a smart key, remove the machanical rotate key from the induction keyhole if any and then insert the smart key to program.

Operation

Step 1: Use the Lonsdor K518S to read and write BCM data and save it as bin file;

1. BCM is located in the lower left of the steering wheel, please pay attention to view the frequency type, usually there will be 315,433,434 frequency (below picture is for 434):

2. Read the BIN (D-FLASH / EEPROM) file with the programmer specifically for reading BCM. Please pay attention to the type here: namely 1L15Y 2M25J metal crystal, or 5M48H 1N35H ceramic crystal (red mark):

Step 2: Copy the bin file into Auto key Programmer K518ISE: please use the USB cable to connect the K518ISE to the computer, open the device internal memory, find the folder “customfile” and copy the bin file into it (as shows below).

Note: bin file suffix “bin” must be lower case letters, directly put the file into the folder rather than create a new folder:

Injector Solenoid Test using Caterpillar ET Software

How to perform: Injector Solenoid Test using CAT ET Software (CAT Engine)?
The purpose of the injector solenoid test is to diagnose injector wiring and injector solenoid functionality.

-Connect Caterpillar ET to your Laptop,
-Open Menu: “Diagnostics – Diagnostic Test – Injector Solenoid Test”
Example: CAT Engine – C11

NOTE: Injector Solenoid Test cannot be performed while the engine is running.

-Click “Power All” and wait the process until complete (Mode: powered), from Cylinder 1 to Cylinder 6.
-On Menu “Test Results”, all the results are OK, indicates that Solenoid Injector still on good condition.

NOTE:
-This test identifies an open circuit or a short circuit in the circuit for the injector solenoids. The test activates the injector solenoids one at a time while the engine is not running. A good solenoid will create an audible click when the solenoid is activated. Heavy Duty Diagnostic tool Cat ET indicates the status of the solenoid as “OK”, “Open”, or “Short”.

BMW ICOM Next Diagnostic Tool Review

Here, I’m perfectly aware what ICOM Next is and I have it.

Icom next runs a gigabyte lan port. So if router and laptop also running gigabyte ports you increase speed, that’s only if the car and software allow it.

Also the Icom next is faster for G series cars which I suspect also have gigabyte Ethernet bus.

Also it has USB3.0 instead of USB2.0 and a better wifi card.

Note that ICOM Next B is different from ICOM B. And ICOM Next A does not work with ICOM B on full speed.

For BMW G series:

Interface = ICOM

ISTA-D=Diagnostic software

ISTA-P = Coding Software

ISTA-P= Programming (Flashing) Software

BMW G series coding:

Unlike E/F series, all Diagnosis and Coding on G series cannot be done with a cheap ENET Cable or K+DCAN cable.

BMW ICOM is the only option for G series.

BMW G series programming:

For Programming (Flashing ECU’s with new Firmware), then you must have ISTA/P for G-Series cars

Note that for F-Series Programming, you will need an ENET Cable, but for E/G-Series Programming, you can use an ICOM emulator.

How do you use Piwis 3 keygen:

This is the method you can try:

Make sure PIWIS 3 is closed. If it is open, right-click the Task bar, and then run Task Manager. Select co.porsche.piwis.shell and End Task.

Click Start (WinKey) and type services. msc in the search box. Run services.msc. If the service is running, then stop it.

If the Keygen is on the laptop, run it, and then leave it open.

Run a Command Prompt.
At the Command Prompt, type:
WMIC BIOS GET SERIAL NUMBER

Enter the Serial Number into the Keygen.
Enter the Country into the Keygen.
Then change the Expiry Date to 01/01/2030.
The Dealer number is not important, but you can enter one if you know it (7 digit number).
Then just leave the Challenge Key blank for now.

Click Start (WinKey) and type services.msc in the search box. Run services.msc
Then change the AdminService startup to Automatic, and click Apply.
Click Start to start the service.

Run Piwis3.
Go to the Imprint section.
Then enter 4 random digits into the Licence key boxes.
Tick the Accept box, and click License Update?—?it will say Not Valid?—?click OK.
Click Licence update twice more and OK.
The Request Key should have disappeared, and the Create Key button should be active?—?click it then.
Place the mouse pointer at the bottom of the screen, and open the Keygen.
And then enter the Request Key into the Challenge Key box, and click Generate.
Enter the license key shown into the boxes on Piwis. Tick the Accept box and then click Licence update.
If successful, you should get a message to reboot. Click OK, and then the computer will shut down.

IMPORTANT!!

After starting the computer, open services.msc again.
Stop AdminService and then set startup to Disabled. You can now run Piwis directly.

You can also get the serial number by printing out the imprint request.
The snag with that is if you are imprinting a VM, it does not show the complete number.

BMW ICOM A2 diagnostic interface failed to be connected, because the firmware is too old and need to upgrade it.

 

Firstly, you need to learn how to check BMW ICOM firmware need update.
update the firmware of BMW ICOM Interface. You have no need to update it if it says FREE.Please read the above photo. It shows FIRMWARE in red frame, that mean you need to

Secondly, update the firmware of BMW ICOM Diagnostic tool step by step.

1.Power on your icom interface by OBD cable, and connect it to computer by LAN cable. PLEASE make sure they are connected well because your interface might be damaged if disconnection during updating.

2.After connected, open the file ENGINEER TOOL on the desktop and you will see a file named ICOM FIRMWARE UPDATE. They are 2 BINs inside of it, ICOM-APPLICATIONIMAGE-XXX and ICOM-BOOTIMAGE-XXX. They are the files

3.Open your IE and input the IP address of your icom. If you do not know what is the IP of your icom, you can use ISTA-D to find it. As below, the IP in green frame is the IP of your ICOM. It needs ID and password to enter in, the ID is root,pw is NZY11502.

After entering into ICOM by IE.Click UPDATE FIRMWARE and choose ICOM-BootImage-XXX.bin,choose Image type as SYSTEM and click SEND THE FILE. Click YES when he say Write the image file to the flash? You will see the red right blinks after that.

 

5.Now we click UPDATE FIRMWARE and choose ICOM-ApplicationImage-xxx.bin and then choose the Image type as APPLICATION and then click SEND THE FILE. Click YES when he says Write the image file to the flash?

6.Reboot your ICOM interface after you update those APPLICATIONIMAGE and Bootimage. And you need to wait for few minutes. Go to ISTA-D again, you will see the FRIMWARE turn to FREE. That means your interface is matched to latest BMW ICOM ISTA software.
