How to do NTG2.5 coding with SDConnect C4

I’m here to tell you

It’s possible to coding NTG2.5 on the benchand test a few things, using SD connect C4 etc.

What you need to do is connect NTG2.5 with your SD Connect 4, you need to connect KL30/KL31/CAN-H/CAN-L, you don’t need to connect the ignition pin because NTG2.5 doesn’t have KL15.

And, you need to attach a 120ohm resistor as a terminal between CAN-H and CAN-L, it’s a request of CAN BUS protocol. You can check this. Found it on a forum

Then, if your connection are all correct, you should use vediamo to code your NTG2.5, the CBF file is HU25.cbf, you can’t use Xentry/DAS because there is no ZGW on your bench, so the Xentry/DAS will never be connected with NTG2.5.

If you want to test rear view camera, you just need connect your camera to the NTG2.5, but you need supply +12V power to your camera manually.

Manually trigger the rear view camera output via Vediamo:

Just press “Rev. Cam.” item like below image in the system setting page, the rear view camera will active if you power the camera up.

On a side note: KL31 bridge

KL 31 just means the Negative Battery Terminal / Ground (I am from germany and the schematics here and in other countries say that Klemme 31 (short KL. 31) is the Minus Terminal of an Battery.

So just connect Pin 15 (A-Block of the Quadlock Connector) to 12V+ (KL. 30) and Pin 12 to the Ground/Negative Terminal of your power supply (KL.31). And now press the ON Button and pray it works (which works always for me )

How to active MB Star SDC4 Xentry 2019.05 on Win7?

SD Connect 4 2019.05 is available with DELL 500G HDD and Solid Hard Disk 256G.

2016 MB Star SD Connect C4 Hardware and XENR TY DAS FAQ

Here are the most frequently-asked questions from Mb Star C4 diagnostic scanner users and professional answers from engineers working for CnAutotool.com. Hopefully, it helps those in trouble.

Q: How to change the Xentry language?
A: Go to Setup, select Setting language, then choose a language and click on Accept.

Q: How to setup the DAS language?
A: Go to DAS Properties. In the Target, change the last two letters (which is the first two letters of the language). Then click on OK.

Q: Xenry language error: A fault has occurred.
A: Change the PC date and time to be the same as the Xentry version.E.g. Your Xentry is version 2015.09, you need set up 2015.09.05 on your PC.

Q: Fault (30.3) pops up after DAS activation. No valid DAS license; DAS will now be closed.
A: Go to local disk C:/programme files/Mercedes-Benz/StartKeyCenter2; find our StartKeyCenter.exe.

If DAS doesn’t expire, just change the bin file in C:/programme files/Mercedes-Benz/DAS

If DAS expires, you need Lan-id to activate DAS

Q: Xentry cannot run, the icon displays then disappears.
A: Change the PC date and time to be the same as the Xentry version;

If it does not work, replace the bin file in C:/programme files/Mercedes-Benz/DAS (the bin file differs from Xentry versions)

If all above fails, send the Mercedes software hard disk to the vendor to re-copy files.

A: Go to C:/programme data/LicDir; delete lic-key2.dat

Open StartKeyCenter on Desktip; activate Xentry

Get a new lic-key2.dat after Xentry activation; copy and paste lic-key2.dat; then rename it as “lic-key2.x4711” (setup the file properties to Read Only)

Q: EWA-NET file cannot start. HTTP Status 500-Servlet execution threw an exception.
A: Go to the Start menu, then EWA-NET Admin ToolIn EWA Admin Tool, Server, EPC, WIS all should start (if they have started yet, pls. stop and restart)Server, EPC, WIS restart, reboot the PC, then open EWA-NET to login

Q: Xenry Error (1.2)-2.503.13003:Initialization of diagnosis multiplexer failed
Possible causes:
The link between the diagnosis multiplexer an the diagnostic socket is interrupted
The link between the diagnosis multiplexer an the diagnostic unit is interrupted.
The voltage supply at the diagnostic socket (circuit30 and (or) circuit31)is fault.
Note:When using SD connect c4 multiplexer, check the connection status using the Toolkit.
A: check the connection of the cable and the car;
Then check the wired&wireless IP setup
Then check the Mercedes software; it’s MB SD C4 software, not Star C3
If all ok, it may result from the SD connect c4 mux or the cable

MB SDconnect C4 WLAN/ WIFI connection failed (solved)

Symptom:

Mb Star Connect C4 can only be used by wire connection for the WLAN cannot work normally and there is no WLAN option on MB SD C4 device.

Device:
MB SD CONNECT CPMPACT 4

Possible cause:
This is not China SD C4 software;
Some files are lost when update yourself;
Other causes make SD C4 mux cannot work normally.

Solution:
Just Update your sd connect c4 firmware to the newest version 2.30:

Step 1
Please prepare 6 AA5 batteries according to Step-by-Step Instruction for how to install MB SD C4 Batteries.
Note: Please do use brand new batteries with sufficient electricity; otherwise, you will fail to update the firmware.

Step 2
Select the green cable to connect to your laptop and MB SD Connect Compact 4 diagnostic multiplexer, and use OBD cable to connect to Mb Star C4 multiplexer and your vehicle. (If the vehicle cannot be connected, select OBD 12V power instead.)

Step 3
Open the software “2012.09 DAS”.
Go to C:\ program files \ SDconnect Toolkit to check whether there are the three following files as the pic below shows.
Update_automatic;
Update_manual;
Update_Special.
If the files’ names are different from the pic shows, please correct the names the same as the pic shows.

Step 4
Restart your computer.
Ps. How to solved update error “DCDI-eErrorCode=204 (204)”:
Update firmware to the latest version
[update instruction file]

For update, the three files above need to be upgraded.

The update order:
02_CSD_2_10.zip> 01_Boolimage_2_3.zip> PmPic29_Cpld13.zip

NOTE: When update, please do use brand new batteries. Also, you need OBD cable to connect to your vehicle for power supply. (If you cannot succeed in connecting to the vehicle, choose OBD 12V power instead; otherwise, 622 error report would appear to tell you that the upgrade is unsuccessful.)

In general, this 00 error means that it is set poorly.

Result:
WLAN option shows on MB STAR Diagnostic Tool MB SD C4 multiplexer. SD C4 can be connected via wire or WIFI.

I am using Mercedes Benz Diagnostic Tool Mb Star Connect C4 mux with 2015.5V DAS hard drive. It worked great, but today it suddenly give me error

This should be a very short comparison The C5 is not really a C5 it’s just a C4 board inside a C5 shell and it does not fit well so the batteries are stuck dangling outside, its not worth a penny more than the C4 in fact due to the badly designed casing it’s worthless

it does not offer any advancement on the C4 whatsoever, it has been made by the chinese to dupe the unsuspecting buyer our advice is stay well away you are paying for a fancy metal box that is not all that fancy
Mercedes benz C5 original tools do offer an incremental advancement on the c4 but the china clone does not.

the clone C5 is often sold at a higher price yet it runs the same software

our conclusion is to stay away from it until there is a clone of the actual C5.
