Kess v2 & Galletto v54 Which is Better for BMW M5 E60 EDC17 ?

I have been remapping a 2006 BMW M5 E60.

I have the MPPS, but it’s not suitable for this so decide to buy a better tool , not sure if I should go for a Galletto v54 or the Kess V2

Any advice would be great, ideally I would like to get the one that covers most cars via OBD.

Advice from users:

1.Kess V2 is better solution.

2.EDC17 safer to do on the frame, and some only.

KESS and GALLETTO it is a good.

If you buy a fake you never know what to do, and if at all something impute.

5.On MED17 with KESS cant do full read. File is somehow encrypted. With Galletto is fine.

6.My KESS is reworked and work great as original. I just say if I do full read (backup) the file is encrypted.

 

Galletto works well for boot mode tricore

1.For me both tools are doing a good JOB Kess is china clone but i have an original one as well. just need to update is to Master because at the moment is SLAVE.

2.FG Galleto V54 is Euro Clone and until now it never ever let me down . Anywaywhat i figure it out is that the tools are good and work good but the laptop configuration is quite important.

3.I use panasonic toughbook CF 19 and CF 52. Never had a single problem with both of them .

4.Buy a good galletto clone EU and no problems, very stable.

5.The FG have no cs correction in edc17 , kess have .

7.I use both, Kess v2 clone + Galletto v54 clone. But i prefer v 54 only because user fredliness and good working stability, no chance to suspend writing file or something else. Kess little bit fussy, and to much moronresistant and used only if V54 will not handle it but in plus a lot better for gasoline engines. V54 in 80% still needs rework after buying but after that works perfect

8.Buy both they are cheap enough get them reworked and then you have two good tools

9.Earlier Galetto didnt support MSS65 K-line ( E6x V10 Mpower ) . It can only read by CAN which is only LCI E6x . Not sure about kess and the latest Galletto version . Someone can double check please . Some chinese says kess is not working good with K-line .

10.I think its better to have boot clone tools they works on many units, about this ecu i think fg is the Best

This is a user manual of how to add tokens to Kess V2 Firmware V4.036; also with how to fix “NO VALID TOKEN FILE” error when fail to add tokens.

NOTES:

1- this manual is used for Kess v2 tuning kit firmware v4.036

2- must be used for Kess v2 without a token reset button

3- Disable all local area connection and wireless network connection, otherwise the
Professional Diagnostic Tools KESS V2 hardware would be damaged.
Process of adding tokens:
Extract “Tool” Zip File;
Copy all the files under “Tool” Folder to the desktop;
Copy “K-Suite_tokens” zip File into Local Dick C and unzip the file;
Run “K10033818 K2-TR ECU TUNERS”;
Click “OK” to continue;

Browse the folder to C:\\KSuite tokens\KSuite;
Click OK;

Click “Rest Token Count” button;

Next close the window;
Delete previously unzipped “K-Suite_tokens” Folder in C:\\;
Re-extract “K-Suite_tokens” Zip File again;

Tokens for Kess v2 Chip Tuning Tool is used out. Open the file “K10033818” and meet the following situation.

ECU-Tuner error: NO VALID TOKEN FILE

solution:
1. rename the token file(“token1.tok”) as “token3.tok” or “token5.tok”

2.copy the file you renamed just (“token3.tok” or “token5.tok” ) now to the folder “Tokens”Ksuite-3

note: make sure that there is only one file (“token3.tok” or “token5.tok” ) in the folder “Token”

normally, the first 10 tokens in “token1.tok” “token2.tok” will be used, you may use tokens from 11th token to the 100th.
it is limited to 100 tokens. so when you use all 100 tokens, you can change the laptop or restore the system and then use tokens from 11th token.

if you follow the 2 steps above but it doesn’t work, please try to install our windows XP

4. If you cannot add tokens according to the instruction above, change the TF card and follow step 1 & 2.
